Swordplay Symposium International
Historical Archives

MISSION STATEMENT

Swordplay Symposium International is a not-for-profit organization, created to encourage appreciation of Western military and civilian swords and hand weapons and to promote historical knowledge of their martial usage.

Swordplay Symposium International will host a biannual conference of historical Western martial arts. The Conference will provide a forum for members and guests to present papers; give demonstrations; and share insights, discoveries, theories, and information among colleagues and fellows in a cordial and positive environment.

Swordplay Symposium International will further these goals by publishing both a biannual "Symposium Proceedings" and an annual journal, SPADA, comprised of scholarly articles and practical instruction regarding Western swordplay and related martial arts.
